Sarah is a Senior studying Psychology and Developmental Family Science. Sarah identifies as a Biracial Asian American. They were raised by their Indonesian immigrant mother and White father in the south side of Indianapolis. Their research interests include studying the identity development of Multiracial individuals, intersectionality, community belongingness, and how Multiple Minority Status affects mental health. Sarah was drawn to the ARISE Lab because she wishes to improve how mixed families talk about race. Sarah is the founding vice president of the Multiracial and Transracial Adoptee Club, and an Undergraduate Member of the HHS DEI Committee. Sarah hopes to attend graduate school to pursue a PhD in psychology to learn more about the identity development of Multiracial individuals. Outside academia, they love reading, traveling, and watching scary movies!
